Service prototyping means production of simulations and mock ups for exploring and evaluting a new service. Service prototypes are used for exploring and evaluting service solutions and processesmonstrating as well as demonstrating them to customers, personnel, technical experts and decision makers. Also, prototypes can be used in educating workers and marketing new services.

MUOVA tohether with University of Vaasa have developed an VR environment for rapid prototyping of industrial services. CoProtolab is a tool for modelling and visualising service processes in a real size scale. The service prototypes can be modified in seconds due to the 3D model libraries and VR functionalities. It is easy to create video demonstrations of virtual service models.

Service prototyping can improve existing service, visualise a service idea or to plan new service business. Coprotolab has ready made VR simulations of the most common industrial services, which can be used as a starting point. Improvements and new ideas are implemented in VR environment during the prototyping sessions. Prototypes can be evaluated against the KPIs, development goals or different scenarios can be run in order to improve the process and identify problems.
