Characterization of biopolymers and polymer biocomposites and investigation of their properties

Service description:

More than 8.3 billion tonnes of plastic has been produced over the past decades and about 60 % of plastic has ended up in either a landfill or the natural environment. With the rapid growth of consumerism, research on innovative starting materials for preparation of polymers may help to reduce the negative impact of petroleum-based plastic materials on the global ecosystem and on animal and human health. Synthesized biopolymers and prepared polymer biocomposites should be characterized and their properties should be investigated towards applicability.

The service includes:

  • characterization of cross-linked polymer structure by instrumental and non-instrumental analysis,
  • investigation of reaction kinetics,
  • investigation of thermal properties,
  • investigation of thermomechanical properties,
  • investigation of mechanical properties,
  • investigation of optical properties,
  • investigation of swelling,
  • investigation of biodegradability.

The price of the service is agreed on individually with the Buyer.

Areas of interest:

  • packaging industry
  • fertilizer waste industry
  • optical 3D printing industry
  • educational trade
  • agriculture waste industry
  • plastics industry
